The 16" Indian Basket shade is a Century Studios adaptation of a 24" Tiffany Studios chandelier fixture. Commissioned in 2013 by a client in North Carolina, the design weaves patterns of deep blue and red against the off white "basket". The shade is shown on the Grooved base.

The 18" Oriental Poppy is one of our favorite Tiffany Studios floral lamp designs. The poppies interact with one another in a vibrant dance, each bloom pulsing with individuality and life. Deep red flowers, tinged with orange, yellow and blue spring from the rich soil at the bottom of the shade to shine against the blue and purple sky at the top. The four green horizontal borders provide a visual structure that keeps the design from becoming unruly. Commissioned by a client in England, the shade is shown on the Ribbed base.

22" Chestnut is a Century Studios' interpretation of a Tiffany Studios shade design which does not appear to have been produced. A Tiffany Studios salesman's sample panel is in the collection of the Morse Museum in Florida and appears in several books. Using a photograph of the panel and general measurements as our guide, we decided to create the shade as a 22" modified turban shape. The shape fit the pattern well and at the 22" shade size the flowers and leaves appeared to be life sized - something that is common in most Tiffany floral shade designs.
Using the original sample panel as our color inspiration, the shade is rendered in rich, saturated colors. The abundant flowers at the top of the shade are richly colored in pink and red with hints of off-white. Large leaves overlap one another on the lower half of the shade. The leaves blend from vibrant reds mixed with orange into green and yellow. The deep blue and green fracture glass background at the bottom of the shade lightens to blue with pink at the top.
Created in 2011 for a Midwest client, the shade is shown on the Twisted Vine base.

The 16" Poppy is one of Tiffany Studios most popular lamp designs. This shade can be successfully created using any coloration, and the addition of filigrees gives the shade an additional level of richness. We created this lamp as a studio piece and it is currently available for purchase in our showroom.
This example represents the "classic" coloration for this shade. The background glass is a sunny yellow with a lively green mixed in. The richly colored poppy flowers combine reds and oranges with hints of yellow and blue, while the blue lower border rows set off the filigreed greens of the leaves.
Tiffany Studios created most of their shades and bases to be interchangeable, and we are showing this shade on three different bases. The Greek Urn base at the top of the post has a formal profile which lends elegance to the overall look of the lamp. The Leaf & Bud w/Collar pottery base (left) gives the shade an Arts & Crafts feel. The Small Stick base (right) has a simplicity that makes it work in any interior.

16" Woodbine shade masterfully combines floral and geometric elements into an almost abstract pattern that is perfectly suited to showcase extraordinary glass. The woodbine, also known as Virginia Creeper, is a climbing vine whose leaves turn from green to vivid autumnal tones in the fall, creating a blaze of color possibilities for the shade. The colorful leaves are rendered in greens, flaming yellows, and reds against a background of fracture/streamer glass. This shade was created in 2012 as a showroom piece and is shown on the Decorated Trumpet base.

20" Acorn (or vine motif, depending on the color interpretation) is an generously proportioned shade that makes an impressive table lamp, floor lamp or chandelier fixture. For this shade, the client requested that the colors for decorative band stand out against the upper and lower geometric sections of the shade. The overall lush green tone of the shade works perfectly with the Kendrick Pottery base. The distinctive Pigtail Cap and bead chain on the lower edge give the shade a sense of playfulness.

We recently completed a Mermaid/Nautilus lamp for a local client. This sculptural lamp features a bronze double-tailed mermaid riding the crest of a wave and holding a lit nautilus shell in her arms. Tiffany Studios used the nautilus shade on a few different bases, but this has always been the most coveted shade/base combination. The shade gently shifts from white to green.
Using molds taken from an original Tiffany Studios example, the finely detailed cast bronze base is made at Century Studios. This is the only Tiffany base design which bears the signature of the artist who sculpted it.
