16" Dogwood

This light and airy 16" Dogwood shade reminds us that spring is just around the corner. The design is covered with mature blossoms and leaves against an open sky. The light coloration was achieved by skillfully blending off white ring mottled and fracture/streamer glass for the flowers. The flower petals are tinged with yellow, green and pink.

The transparent blue sky is created from an unusual fracture/streamer glass with a hammered texture that was created by Schlitz Studios. The leaves are also cut from several lively green Schlitz fracture/streamer glasses. Schlitz Studios went out of business in the mid 1990's and the glass they produced is highly sought after by stained glass artists and enthusiasts. The purple rippled borders at the top and bottom of the shade lend additional color and texture to the piece.

The shade has been created as a studio piece and is shown on the Greek Urn base. This lamp is currently available for purchase from our showroom.

Window of the Week: Peacock on Balustrade

Peacocks were a constant inspiration for Tiffany Studios and appeared in numerous windows, mosaics, and lamp patterns. In 2012, we created this highly detailed Peacock on Balustrade window as a showroom piece. A proud peacock rests on a balustrade overlooking a bay. Wisteria and colorful foliage frame the view. The tail of the peacock is made from lustre glass, so the piece shimmers at night when the light is reflected off the surface of the window. This colorful window is approximately 40" tall and is now in a private local collection.

Lamp of the Week: 16" Poppy

The 16" Poppy is one of the most popular Tiffany shade patterns. The elegant flowers are tastefully presented on a cone shape, and the addition of filigrees in the leaves and flower centers give an added dimension to the shade. This example, created in 2013 for a client in San Francisco, has a vibrant color palette that is warm and inviting. The richly color flowers are set against an amber background, while the green leaves have hints of red throughout. The shade is shown on the tall Grooved base.

Lamp of the Week: 16" Geranium

Geraniums are the ubiquitous flowers which give a splash of color to gardens, porches, and window boxes. For this 16" shade, a smokey blue & green background sets off the dappled green leaves and cheerful red flowers. The rippled glass used in the borders gives a textural accent to the shade. The shade is shown on the distinctive Greek Urn base. We created this lamp in 2012 as a showroom piece and it is now in a private collection.

Lamp of the Week: 18" Grape

With its lush foliage and fully ripened grapes, the 18" Grape is one of Tiffany Studios' most successful lamp designs. The shade begins with a cast bronze crown of open branches at the top and cascades down to a realistic irregular lower edge. Commissioned in 2015 by a client in Vermont, the shade is a lively mix of color and texture.
