16" Woodbine

The Woodbine, or Virginia Creeper, is a climbing vine that dramatically shifts color in the fall. The 16" Woodbine is a perfect shade to showcase exciting glass in surprising color combinations.

The background of the shade is divided into a geometric trellis for the foliage to cling to. Green, red, amber, and orange foliage play against a spectacular backdrop of purple, fuchsia, and golden amber glass. The shade is shown on the Flower Petal base. Created as a studio piece, this lamp is currently available for purchase from our showroom.

Lamp of the Week: 18" Tyler

The inviting personality of this 18" Tyler shade radiates a pleasing calmness. Against a green background that deepens towards the top of the shade, a playful scrolling ribbon dances across the surface. The tones of amber and green in the ribbon are warm and inviting. Warm amber is also used at the bottom of the design for balance. Commissioned by a New Jersey client in 2014, the shade is shown on the classic Decorated Trumpet base (22" tall).

12 Light Lily Table Lamp

A milestone in the history of lighting design, Louis Comfort Tiffany introduced Lily Table Lamps in the 1890's, showing the world what could be created with an electric light bulb and some imagination. This illuminated sculpture is inspired by a cluster of water lilies, with the lustre glass flowers nodding gently above the bronze lily pads and buds. Even the light bulb was incorporated into the design, forming the stamen of each blossom.

We have just completed this 12 Light Lily Table Lamp, which is available for purchase in our showroom. At Century Studios, our reproduction Tiffany Lily Lamps are created in our studio. The lower portion of the lamp is cast in bronze and the metalwork is finished with an authentic verdigris patina. Each Lily Lamp comes with mouth-blown gold lustre shades, which give a pleasant warm glow. The switch for the lamp is one of the lily pads on the base.

Lamp of the Week: 10" Pony Wisteria

The 10" Pony Wisteria lamp is the smallest member of the Wisteria family of lamps. The shade is topped with a cast bronze crown from which the flowers cascade downwards, intermingling with leaves and branch work and finally ending in an irregular lower border. For this lamp, we blended mottled glasses in bold blues and greens with subtle white and lavender tones to create a rich color pallet. This gnarled Pony Tree Trunk base (16" tall) was designed by Tiffany Studios specifically for this shade. This lamp was created as a showroom piece in 2002 and is now in a private collection.

20" Daffodil Turban

The 20" Daffodil Turban is a generously proportioned 20" shade that can be used as a table lamp, chandelier fixture, or on a Jr. Floor base.  The strong upward thrust of the leaves and stems plays against the multiple horizontal border rows. This symmetry is playfully disrupted by daffodil flowers in full bloom poking between and spilling over the borders.

Rich amber/yellow glass was chosen for the flowers, while a variety of greens enliven the leaves and border rows. For the background glass, a teal tinged with amber at the top of the shade transitions to deep velvety blues at the bottom.

The shade is shown on the Twisted Vine base. This lamp was commissioned by a local client.

Lamp of the Week: 14" Tulip

The 14" Tulip is a petite shade that reminds us that Spring is around the corner. Purple tulips with fresh green leaves dance over the surface of the shade. The background glass used for this shade was a delicate peach and green mix with a lightly textured surface made by the Lins Glass Foundry in the 1990's. Shown on the Pony Tree Trunk base, this lamp was commissioned by a local client in 2002.

16" Acorn

The 16" Acorn is a classic Tiffany Studios shade design that can be created in a wide range of colors. For this piece a heavily mottled deep green glass was chosen for the body of the shade with a slightly different green used for the "acorns". The original Tiffany price list identifies this pattern as a "Vine border", but acorn has become the common name for the shade. Commissioned by a local client, the shade is shown on the Greek Urn base (overall lamp height 21.5" tall).

Lamp of the Week: 22" Elaborate Peony

The 22" Elaborate Peony shade is one of Tiffany Studios' masterpiece designs. This shade is often referred to as the Windswept Peony because of its intricate blending of leaf and flower. This shade was commissioned in 2017 by a client in New York and is shown on the large Library base (26.5" tall).

Our client requested strong colors for the shade, and there is an exciting boldness to the color pallet. Ring mottled, streaky, ripple, and fracture/streamer glasses were expertly blended together to create the shade.
