22" Elaborate Peony

The 22" Elaborate Peony is a masterpiece of Impressionist lamp design. As the name implies, with 1038 individual pieces of glass, this is a more highly detailed version of Tiffany's popular 22" Peony shade which has 822 pieces. 

The saturated color scheme for this shade begins with a cerulean blue sky/background at the top that transitions down to a rich cobalt blue. The flower colors include a mix of lush pinks and velvety reds. 

Frilly peony flowers in full bloom cover the surface of the shade. A mass of leaves playfully interacts with the flowers giving the design a fullness that encourages the glass artist to find interesting glasses to showcase in every aspect of the shade.

The shade is shown on the elegant Arc base (29" tall). With its delicate open fretwork, this large base has a light, airy look. This lamp has been sold and is in a private collection in Texas.
